ORDER RECEIVED BY TELESTE SERVICES COMPANY AVC IN GERMANY
German Versatel Telekabel AG has ordered a network upgrade from Teleste's local
services company AVC-Systemhaus GmbH. The project, to be carried out in the
city of Halle in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, includes upgrades of the headend,
access network and house network part of the cable network.
Versatel is an independent cable operator in Germany, operating in total 12
different states. The company offers its customers several types of triple play
services based on a number of network technologies. Versatel has approximately
710 000 broadband customers and some 160 000 cable customers. The relevant
reform is part of their triple play strategy.
The project will go on about nine months with the main part of the order
consisting of installation services.The value of the project amounts to about
EUR 2.2 million and it kicks off in November 2009.
